Most food indulgences leave you feeling guilty. What follows are extra hours at the gym and unwanted meal-skipping to burn calories. So, what’s better than slashing them down as you eat?

Indulging in these foods will keep you fuller longer while working their magic.

GREEN TEA

No tea is more powerful than this one. It is truly a wonder drink with unlimited benefits. High on antioxidants (main compound EGCG) and natural caffeine, green tea acts as a stimulant that aids in burning body fat by boosting your metabolism. It also helps you burn visceral fat (harmful fat) – the root cause of heart diseases and diabetes. The tea prevents and fights many types of cancer cells. Exercising simultaneously will add to the positive results.

EGGS

I can live solely on eggs! The easiest way to lose weight is by adding one or two whole eggs in your diet. One large egg contains a measly 70 calories and is rich in amino acids, essential vitamins, and minerals.  Combining it with green vegetables would make for a well-balanced protein meal which will keep your stomach full for hours. Eggs help boost metabolism too.

WHEY

An easy and simple food option, this is one of my favorite meal substitutes. A scoop of high-quality whey contains 23 grams of protein, is low on carbs (1.8 grams), low on salt and loaded with vital amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. When blended with nut milk, it will keep you full for hours and increase your metabolism. This becomes your salt-free meal as well which helps flush out extra water from your body.

OATMEAL

Oatmeal contains the best type of fibre. It has multiple benefits- easy to digest, low on calories, and rich in vitamins and minerals. Not only does it help flush out toxins from your stomach and colon, it also wards off bad cholesterol, keeping your insides super-healthy. And what’s better than having your appetite in control! Oatmeal will keep you fuller for longer, boost energy, balance blood sugar levels and increase metabolism. Have it before you hit the gym.

DARK CHOCOLATE

When eaten in moderation, a good organic dark chocolate could be your best friend in losing fat. Flavanols, its key ingredient has great health benefits. Flavanols strengthen keep your metabolism and are fibre-rich. The combination of flavanols and fibre wishes away your cravings for junk food.

LEMON WATER

A simple no-fuss drink, it is excellent for body detox. The drink is a blend of Vitamin C, antioxidants, potassium and flavonoids. It has plenty of benefits – reduces water retention, prevents bloating, eases digestion – which helps in speeding up metabolism. Lemon pulp consists of Pectin, a soluble fibre which when ingested, keeps your stomach full – and contributes to weight loss.

PUMPKIN SEEDS

Raw pumpkin seeds are protein-dense and are full of fibre and healthy saturated fats. These take hours to digest, leaving your stomach satisfied. Being low on the glycemic index, they are natural stabilizers of blood sugar – a necessity for women suffering from PCOS and other hormonal issues. Abundant in magnesium and zinc, pumpkin seeds increase energy levels and activate the fat burning hormone. Sprinkle them on salads, porridge, and smoothies or just have two tablespoons. So, all the fitness enthusiasts, snack on!
