The choice of which perfume to wear is a very personal one. While one may have different scent preferences for different seasons or occasions, most people don’t like to experiment much with their perfume(s). However, they certainly look for one that promises longevity, and is a good match with their personality.
I usually go for fragrances that are warm/floral/spicy.
Here, I have rounded up a list of my favourite perfume picks. Most of these can be purchased online.
Tom Ford Rose Prick (for both men and women)
It’s Tom Ford’s new launch and my recent purchase of course. Warm, Floral & spicy. So perfect for winters. It’s strong and I Like to wear it in the evenings. The scent lingers for hours! The beautiful looking bottle is a plus!
Top notes – Sichuan pepper, turmeric
Middle notes – Rose de mai , Turkish rose, Bulgarian rose
Base notes – Patchouli, tonka bean
Cuir Obscur by Byredo (for both men and women)
Two words I would use for this one – dark and dominating. With a nice earthy scent, this Eau de Parfum is powerful and alluring. The scent is actually a combination of opposites – bitter-sweet, sweet-spiced. It’s perfect for autumn/ winter, and nighttime events. A couple of sprays will last you long.
Top notes – Amaretto, Nutmeg
Middle notes – Ylang ylang, Rose
Base notes – Black leather, Patchouli, Musks
Santa Maria Novella Acqua Di Colonia Melograno (for both men and women)
I’m obsessed with this old classic! In fact, it is the one fragrance I purchase every time I finish a bottle.
Melograno is an Italian word that means pomegranate. The perfume’s got pleasing floral notes that give refreshing, warm and welcoming sensations. I love using this one through …. season; day/night.
Eau De Campagne by Sisley (for both men and women)
Another earthy scent, it smells of the freshness of forests/herbs. It is like a breath of fresh air. It dries quickly and is long-lasting to my satisfaction. It’s better suited for the summer during daytime.
Top notes – Bergamot, Lemon, Basil, Galbanum, Wild Herbs
Middle notes – Tomato leaves, Jasmine, Geranium, Lily of the Valley, Plum
Base notes – Oak moss accord, Patchouli, Vetiver, Musk
Christian Dior New Look 1947 (for women)
This one’s a nice blend of floral, powdery and vanilla, but surprisingly, not a conventionally feminine fragrance. It’s got a lot of flowers! The fragrance is light and airy, but deepens quickly. It’s great for the evenings and is extremely wearable.
Top note – Pink Pepper
Middle notes – Rose, Jasmine, Tuberose, Ylang-Ylang, Gardenia
Base notes – Vanilla, Benzoin
Do leave a feedback in case you’ve tried any of these before. For those looking to purchase a new one, believe me, all of these will prove to be worth the price!
